Before you start baking make sure you have all the ingredients.

Tomorrow is child 2's 9th Birthday and as usual on the kids birthdays I bake cupcakes for them to take to school.  So I got the packet mixes(yes I am lazy) this afternoon and right now I was about to make them only to realise I have run out of eggs.  I should have checked before I left for the shops this afternoon but I had a lot on and forgot.

So now I am sitting here with most of the mix all set to go just waiting on husband to get home from the shops to bring me more eggs.  No I didn't send him out this late at night he was on his way home from work and called to ask if I needed anything so I said yep I need eggs.  So the big lesson in all of this MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL THE INGREDIENTS BEFORE YOU START BAKING LOL.

I was so spoilt.

On the 27th Husband and I went to Sydney for a night away(as blogged about before).  All I was expecting was for us to get to the hotel stay there then go to the concert back to the hotel then home the next morning.

This wasn't what I got.  I told husband that I needed some jeans so we went down to homebush DFO(Direct Factory outlet) and went shopping not only did I get two pairs of jeans(from jeanswest awesome service), I got new boots plus some new tops.  Husband and I had a great time walking to DFO and just mucking about like young kids again and back again.  Just being young lovers(ok we aren't that old) but it was nice.  Then we went out to dinner at a lovely Italian restaurant.

Then it was off to the Concert.  We knew we had semi good seats, what we didn't expect was to be about 10 metres from the stage and was so close we could almost reach out and touch them.  It was a great concert I love Tim McGraw and Faith Hill they are two of my Favourite country music singers.

Just for once the whole day and night was about me and I felt so spoilt.  I love my Husband.

LOL at the conversation my kids just had.

Children and I were just driving home from the shops where child3 didn't get any lollies like she wanted which prompted her to tell me I am a bad mum and daddy is the better parent.

Child 2 pipes up with no he isn't mum is the better parent because she puts us to sleep and all dad does is work work work or sleep sleep sleep mum is there for us.

Child3 goes No dad is the better parent because he allows us to buy lollies.

This amused me greatly I am not sure why because I think both of us as parents have our strong points and our weaknesses.

Wow to think that all woman have fought for that we are still fighting for.

I am very vocal pro choice I believe that every woman has the right to choose what happens to her body and when.  I was horrified to read today an article about the fight woman in America are going to have.  And that is the right to birth control yeap you read that right BIRTH CONTROL.  In the year 2012 woman in America are having their rights stripped away by the MEN in power.

Recently there was a congressional hearing on birth control and not one woman was invited to join the panel it was 8 men.  A young woman was called a slut for saying that she should have the right to cheap birth control

why aren't woman rising up to tar and feather him?  You are being compared to cattle and pigs woman aren't live stock we are human beings and we have rights we are not incubators we are not brood mares we are equals.  I don't tell men that after a certain number of children they help conceive they should have a vasectomy.

So here I am asking the woman of America to rise up and vote the people who want to make your choice hard or damn near impossible OUT OF OFFICE.  Why do they get to decide? Why are they trying to put their beliefs on your uterus?  Why are you allowing them to?

In Australia when our health minister tried this we rose up we told him no.  

I have new neighbours

Unfortunately the man next door hasn't moved.  But the other side now has new people in and they seem lovely.  They have 2 children close to child 2 and 3's age so my kids are in heaven new people to play with and they will all be going to the same school.

It's actually a little weird having people live over there now since the house has been empty for close to 5 months I am not really use to seeing people in it. It's a rather new thing.  I am glad the kids get along they new neighbours have been in the house for 2 days and already the kids are running between both houses playing nicely :D.

8 more days WOOOHOOO

In 8 more days I am heading off to Sydney to the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill Concert and I can't wait.  Husband and I will be staying in Sydney overnight for the Concert and we will be KID FREE.  As much as I love my kids I can't wait for this tiny tiny break.

And I can't wait to see Tim and Faith in Concert.  I was lucky enough to be at the Tim McGraw Concert last time he was here in Sydney when Faith got up and sung with him it was great I can't wait to see it again and this time I will be even closer.  This is my Birthday, Anniversary, Easter and Christmas present all rolled into one.

Yay the nurses won.

If you have been reading my whole blog then you would have read me griping about the media getting the nurses fight with the Victorian Government wrong.  Well on Friday they WON, the Government finally backed down, the nurses get to keep their nurse to patient ratio, No split shifts and NO health assistants, they are also getting a 14 to 21 % pay rise which was MORE than they were asking for in the first place.  So now the question is why after 9 months did the Victorian Government cave in and let them keep everything and give them a higher pay rise than they were asking for?

Why did they waste 9 months?
Why did they waste tax payer dollars on lawyers?
Why Why Why are the rumours true that Baillieu was only in it for the fight?  Was he doing it because he thought the nurses would cave?

If he was doing it because he thought the nurses would cave the man is delusional you seriously don't go into nursing if you want to be a millionaire because the money isn't in this job you get paid pittance to look after sick people, you get abused on the job by patients, you run the risk of catching nasty diseases of you prick your finger with a needle.  The job is a labour of love people go into nursing because they care about other people.  The person taking care of you is there because they WANT to be not because they HAVE to be.

Some things about this whole fight amused the hell out of me like the Government saying that nurses were putting patients lives at risk when they did their planned stop work actions.  All they were doing was leaving the number of nurses that would have been on shift if the Government got it's way.  So why when the nurses are doing it it's putting patients lives at risk but if the Government had of gotten it's way it would have been fine?

Why did they spend millions of Dollars demonising the nurses who were only looking out for the public's interests(no one wants to be look after by and un qualified person).
